How It Went
Twelve guests joined us for the first Autoriese tour, in everything from a well-sorted Scion FR-S to a 911 GT3. We staged out of Jackson, climbed into the Lost Sierra, and spent three full days working through the Northern Sierra’s best roads — high passes in the morning, canyon runs in the afternoon, and back to the resort in time to clean up for dinner.
Nakoma Resort was our base for all three nights, which turned out to be the single best decision of the trip: one unpack, one check-out, and a different loop out the front door every morning. Every evening the whole group sat down together, a welcome dinner, a night out in Graeagle, and a farewell dinner in Nakoma’s Frank Lloyd Wright–designed clubhouse.
The event ran fantastically, and we had some great memories, conversations, and merch to remember it!

The Route We Ran
The Drive Up — Into the Lost Sierra
The group gathered in Jackson and climbed into the high country on the way north to Graeagle. Everyone settled into Nakoma, then met for the welcome dinner.
Gold Country Loop
A tighter, more technical day through Gold Rush country, with a climb into the high lakes before returning to Graeagle. Group dinner nearby that evening.
The Volcano Run
The big one. North into volcanic country and back along one of California’s great river canyons, then the farewell dinner at the resort.

A relaxed send-off, route suggestions in hand for the drive back — fast way or fun way, everyone’s call.

A single check-in for the whole tour, so every day started and ended in the same room.
Autoriese events are lawful public-road touring drives — not races, time trials, or competitive events. Guests drive their own insured cars, at their own pace, in good company.
For Host Properties
Small, Booked Groups
Typically 10–20 guests staying 2–4 nights, mid-week and shoulder-season friendly. Rooms are reserved as a block and guaranteed by Autoriese, not left to individual bookings.
Dining On Property
Where a property has a restaurant, we book group dinners there — plated, pre-counted, and confirmed well ahead of the catering deadline.
Quiet Guests
No track activity, no timed runs, no engine events on site. Cars leave in the morning and come back for dinner. Our August group left the property exactly as we found it.
A Repeating Calendar
Autoriese runs roughly four tours a year across California. A property that works well becomes a recurring stop, not a one-off booking.
